I am such a creative person and I realized that there is something so magical about taking an idea and turning it into reality. For me, as a creative entrepreneur, it starts with a spark—a vision for a product or brand—and evolves into a journey filled with experimentation, learning, and joy.  Some people think a creative person can't be a good business person.  You know the whole 'right brained' thing...while I find it quite the opposite.  BUT I do hire 'left brained' people to do certain things for me.  A smart business person always knows there weak points and hire accordingly!

When I founded Domo Tea in 2007, it wasn’t just about creating tea blends; it was about crafting experiences. I carefully sourced micro ground teas and superfoods, experimenting with combinations until they felt just right. Each recipe became a story, a chance to connect with others through the simple pleasure of a perfect cup of tea.

But creativity doesn’t end with recipes. Building a brand feels like painting on a blank canvas, weaving together visuals, messaging, and experiences to reflect the heart of what I’ve created. From working on packaging designs to choosing the words that tell our story, every detail brings the vision to life.

A New Spark: Strawberry Chocolate Bliss

Recently, inspiration struck me for our COCO brand, which specializes in indulgent superfood drink mixes. As I wrote yesterday in my blog I was captivated by the potential of freeze-dried powders and especially the strawberry powder—bold, natural, and free of artificial additives. The idea of a Strawberry Chocolate mix felt irresistible, blending the nostalgic charm of chocolate-dipped strawberries with a modern, wholesome twist.

Developing this product has been exhilarating. It’s about perfecting the recipe, balancing rich cocoa with vibrant strawberry flavor, and designing packaging that conveys its playful decadence. It’s a joy to create something that feels both familiar and fresh for our customers.

Keeping Creativity Alive

Staying creative means avoiding stagnation. For me, that’s about embracing change and taking risks—whether it’s launching new products, rethinking marketing strategies, or even tweaking recipes. Creativity fuels growth, and it keeps the journey exciting.

The Joy of Learning

Creativity thrives on inspiration, and I find mine in business audible books, courses, and conversations with fellow women entrepreneurs. These moments spark fresh ideas and help me refine my approach. Learning is about perspective, and connecting with others always brings new insights to the table.

Finding Fulfillment

At its core, my creative/entrepreneurial journey is about joy and personal growth. From the first spark of inspiration to the final product, every step is an opportunity to share something meaningful.
