New Year and New Goals

New Year and New Goals

Happy New Year! There’s something magical about the start of a new year, isn’t there? It’s a fresh slate, a chance to set intentions, dream big, and make plans to bring those dreams to life. Like many of you, I have big plans for 2025—goals that span health, personal growth, and of course, exciting new ventures for Domo Tea.

One of my favorite traditions each New Year’s Eve is pulling out last year’s list of goals and seeing how far I’ve come. This past December 31st, I was thrilled to find that I had accomplished nearly all of my goals from 2024, save for two. It’s such a satisfying feeling to reflect on what’s been achieved and use that as fuel to dive into the year ahead. I’ve learned over the years, especially after reading Atomic Habits by James Clear, that success lies not in giant leaps but in consistent, baby steps. It’s all about building habits—little routines that over time snowball into meaningful change.

They say it takes six weeks to form a new habit, and I’ve found that to be absolutely true. Whether it’s committing to a daily 20-minute walk, drinking more water, or adding in a few self care routines, these small actions become second nature surprisingly quickly. Once they do, they’re no longer just tasks; they’re rituals—a word I’ve come to love as I’ve grown older.

Rituals are my secret to savoring life’s moments while staying grounded and productive. One of my healthiest and most cherished rituals is, unsurprisingly, tied to microground tea. My daily tea habits have become anchors for different phases of my day, giving me both structure and joy.

Take my mornings, for example. I start the day with a warm cup of matcha. This isn’t just about the energy boost from the tea (although that’s a welcome perk). It’s about the calm it brings as I sit down to write, check emails, and plan my day. After that, I head out for a morning walk, often chatting with my mom while I soak up the fresh air. This routine not only helps me feel connected but also sets a positive tone for the rest of the day.

Then there’s my 2 PM ritual—a creamy London Fog. It’s my go-to for an afternoon pick-me-up and the perfect companion as I dive into marketing learning or brainstorming new ideas for Domo. This mid-afternoon break has become a non-negotiable part of my day. It’s a chance to pause, reset, and refocus.

Finally, my evenings wind down with my bedtime tea. Depending on the day, it’s either the soothing Turmeric Sweet Dreams or a cozy mix of Coco and Chai Latte. Pairing this with my nightly skincare routine creates a gentle transition into relaxation and rest. It’s like a little signal to my brain that it’s time to let go of the day and recharge for tomorrow.

As I think about 2025, I’m focusing on building more rituals like these while also layering in new habits. Some of my goals include going to the gym regularly, sticking to my morning walks, going to bed earlier, and eating healthier. I’m reminded that even the biggest goals can be broken down into manageable steps. A single 20-minute walk might seem small, but over time, it’s what creates a healthier, happier lifestyle.

On the business side, I have some exciting plans for Domo Tea this year. While I’ll keep some of those under wraps for now, I can say that our mission to create products that bring both health and happiness into people’s lives continues to inspire me every day. I’m grateful for the chance to share my love of tea and its ability to transform not just your health but your entire day through simple, mindful moments.

So, here’s to 2025—a year of big dreams, small steps, and the joy of new rituals. Whether you’re setting health goals, career aspirations, or personal intentions, I encourage you to approach them with kindness toward yourself. Start small, stay consistent, and celebrate every little win along the way. And don’t forget to savor the rituals that make life not just productive but truly fulfilling.  So kick that coffee one little sip at a time!
