Exploring My Favorite Superfoods
As much as I love to rave about the wonders of micro ground tea (and trust me, I could go on for hours), I’ve also developed a deep appreciation for a variety of other superfoods that nourish both body and soul. Some of these gems already make regular appearances in my life, while others are exciting new discoveries I’m eager to embrace.
Here’s a look at my favorite superfoods, including a sneak peek at two I’ll be incorporating into future creations.
1. Turmeric
A golden powerhouse, turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties thanks to curcumin, its active compound. It’s a go-to for supporting joint health, boosting immunity, and even enhancing mood. Plus, its vibrant color adds a sunny glow to any recipe!
How I Use It: I love adding turmeric to to a few of the recipes for the taste and the beautiful natural color. You will notice it in THREE of the recipes.....Turmeric Sweet Dreams, the Elixo and the SWIG Ginger Peach Iced Tea.
2. Beet Powder
This vibrant superfood is packed with nitrates, which can help improve blood flow and boost stamina. Beets are also rich in essential nutrients like folate and manganese, making them great for heart health and detoxification.
How I Use It: Beet powder adds a naturally sweet flavor and a stunning pink hue that is used in our Swig Superfood Iced Tea.
3. Maca
Known as the "Peruvian Ginseng," maca is an adaptogen that helps the body manage stress while boosting energy, endurance, and even hormonal balance. It has a nutty, caramel-like flavor that’s irresistible.
How I Use It: Maca is a staple in my smoothies and now its also a part of Coco Superfood Hot Chocolates.
4. Carob
A wonderful alternative to cocoa, carob is naturally sweet and caffeine-free. It’s rich in fiber, antioxidants, and essential minerals like calcium and magnesium. Plus, it’s easier on the digestive system compared to traditional chocolate.
How I Use It: This is the perfect addition to our Coco Superfood Hot Chocolates!
5. Lemon Balm Leaf
This calming herb has been used for centuries to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, and support digestion. Its mild, citrusy flavor makes it a versatile addition to teas and tonics.
How I Use It: A powdered infusion of lemon balm is perfect for a calming evening tea in our Sweet Dreams Turmeric latte.
The Newcomers: Superfoods I’m Excited to Explore
6. Dandelion Root
A true unsung hero, dandelion root is celebrated for its detoxifying properties, particularly for liver health. It’s also a natural diuretic, supporting kidney function, and is rich in antioxidants.
How I Plan to Use It: That's top secret right now
7. Mesquite
This desert treasure is a protein-rich, low-glycemic superfood with a sweet, caramel-like flavor. It’s high in fiber, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, making it a great choice for balancing blood sugar levels and promoting digestive health.
How I Plan to Use It: You will soon see.....
Each of these superfoods brings something special to the table, whether it’s a nutritional boost, a unique flavor, or a touch of natural magic. As I continue to explore the world of wholesome ingredients, I look forward to incorporating these newcomers into future Domo Tea creations.
